School System – Organic Agricultural School Schlägl

1^st form (9^th level of education)

September – July; two weeks practical training on an organic farm

2^nd form (10^th level of education)

September – July; two weeks real life modules (own choice) and one month practical training on a farm

3^rd form (11^th level of education)

September – March;

4^th form (12^th level of education)

Compulsory practical trainings:

Full-time farm: altogether 12 months of practical training but at least 4 months on a foreign farm (practical training – 3^rd form is included)

Part-time farm: 22 months on the own farm and at least 1 month on a foreign farm (practical training – 3^rd form is included)

Finish / Degree:

Certificate – agricultural skilled worker

Evening school at the organic agricultural school Schlägl

The professional school for agriculture aims at adults.

Especially young farmers who served an apprenticeship after compulsory school are warmly welcomed. The final exam (certificate – agricultural skilled worker) is required in order to get financial support (e.g.: investment assistance).

A solid agricultural education is very important for rural areas. Well-educated farmers are the supposition for an area-wide agriculture.
